The City of Beverly Hills has shown its dedication to protecting the public health of its residents and visitors by being an anti-tobacco trailblazer. In 2019, the Beverly Hills City Council unanimously approved an historic ban on the sale of tobacco products in the city.
The ban prohibits the sale of cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco and electronic cigarettes. With this ban, Beverly Hills became the first in nation to implement such a law, which took effect on January 1, 2021 and which also makes them a clear choice for our Community Impact Award.
